G.I.Joe Vanguard 1 of 4
1996,
For the world, it was like any other day in the latte 1990s, kids playing, adults working and countries being peaceful. However just then all the media channels were hijacked, and the mysterious group of hijackers introduced themselves as Cobra.
The organisation demanded that all world leaders leave their power to them, before showcasing the world their terrifying bioweapon known as the creeper bomb, which destroyed a ghost town. Meanwhile at their base, the US military group known as G.I Joe were trying to track down the threat.
This was particularly handled by a G.I.Joe unit that was led by Duke(consisting of Lady Jaye, Flint, Scarlett, Sci-fi, Snakes eyes and Heavy Duty) While being debriefed by Joe Colton, who explained that they traced a signal to a MARS facility in Greenland.
As they boarded their plane to Greenland, Flint was determined to find this so called “Cobra”, Snake eyes made the Shushing symbol with his hands. Duke readies himself for the mission, as their no telling what they will encounter in Greenland.
Meanwhile, Destro reports to Cobra commander that their plan is going smoothly. Later on the team were mid-air over Greenland, still traveling to investigate the facility. Sci-fi told his team they were approaching it’s possible location when they were shot down by an EMP weapon.
After being knocked out for a while, Duke woke up to see himself in a cell, approaching her was a lady in her thirties, She introduced herself as the “Baroness”(which Duke noted resembled the G.I Joe operative Chameleon) before ordering some troops to escort him out of his cell.
The troops marched him and his team to meet the “Cobra Commander”, at the same time, Colton noticed that Duke’s unit went missing over Greenland, and ordered Chameleon to send some troops there. Duke’s unit were marched into a large, minimalistic room, decorated only with Cobra insignias on the curtains.
Cobra commander greeted them, and said he’ll be answering any questions they have. Sci-fi asked who they were, and Cobra commander started explaining. He told the team that Cobra was a thousand years old organisation who’s goal was to slowly take over the world.
The creeper bombs being the next step towards that goal. He told the joes that they’ve seen the power of the Creeper bomb and warns them that they have many more in their arsenal. A trooper went up to Cobra Commander and told him their was a break in as sirens goes off.
The commander told the other troops to guard the Joes as he went to investigate. Once gone, the Joes tried to find a way to escape when they realised that Snake eyes wasn’t with them, The guards then were knocked out by a mysterious figure, which turned out to be Snake eyes.
He helped his teammates escape, while the rest of the troops under G.I Joe raided the facility, Duke went after Cobra commander as he saw him escape, so he and Snake eyes went to apprehend him, despite Colton telling them to help secure the base.
The Duo caught up to the commander, who was leaving in a jet before they ambushed the Cobra Lord. Storm shadow(who was with Cobra commander) confronted his old rival which left only Duke and Cobra commander, who he brawled to try and capture him.
However the Cobra leader was no weakling, Commander stated that Cobra won’t rest until the earth was under their control, which Duke responded that the Joes would do anything in their power to stop them. Both Cobra commander and Storm shadow jumped into the Jet , and despite the Joes efforts, they escaped!!!
Back at base, Duke made his full report on the situation, and with Colton agreement, both concluded war was coming, war with Cobra that is. Meanwhile on cobra island, Cobra Commander talked to Destro over the phone about their lost base. He also agreed their was a long conflict ahead of them.
